Designed by John E. Tourtellotte, the building covers over 201,000 square feet and features neoclassical architecture, complete with a dome standing 208 feet high.
Visitors to the Capitol will find popular statues such as the Golden Statue of George Washington and Winged Victory of Samothrace – sculpted around 350 B.C.
