Most Popular Area Attractions

Historic Downtown Idaho Falls

A popular year-round draw, the Historic Downtown neighborhood of Idaho Falls, Idaho is situated just east of the Snake River, which flows through the center of the city. Between Memorial Drive and Yellowstone avenue, visitors find an abundance of eateries, wineries, shops, and art centers.

Visitors peruse specialty shops such as Park Avenue Antiques and Idaho Mountain Trading before resting their feet at restaurants like Snake Bite Restaurant or Grandpa's Southern BarBQ. In addition to the area's numerous galleries, the "Art You Can Sit On" installment features 18 "sculptural seats" placed throughout downtown.

Idaho Falls Regional Airport

Enjoy exploring the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, in eastern Idaho. The area's largest city, Idaho Falls, is the Gem State's second largest city, behind the Capital City of Boise. Traveling to and from Idaho Falls is easy with the services available at the Idaho Falls Regional Airport. The airport's convenient location near Interstate 15 northwest of downtown Idaho Falls, is conducive for residents and visitors needing commercial and general aviation services.

While in the airport terminal waiting for a scheduled flight to Las Vegas, Salt Lake City, Denver, Phoenix/Mesa, San Francisco or Oakland, enjoy a meal at Kathryn's Restaurant or your favorite beverage in Kathryn's Lounge. Allegiant, Delta and United Airlines offer a variety of commercial flights. Last minute items, magazines and snacks are also available in the Snak Shack. After a day's flight into Idaho Falls, enjoy comfortable accommodations and guest services with Best Western hotels.

Museum of Idaho

Called "the Intermountain West's Premier Musuem," the Museum of Idaho is located in historic downtown Idaho Falls, Idaho. Its building was originally constructed as the Andrew Carnegie Library but was repurposed by the Bonneville Historical Society when the Library outgrew the space.

Popular permanent exhibits in the Museum are the Race for Atomic Power, which features the first light bulb ever lit by a nuclear reactor, and Lewis and Clark in Idaho, which educates visitors on the famous explorers' impact on the Idaho area.

Saint Anthony Sand Dunes

Saint Anthony Sand Dunes encompass over 11,000 acres of beautiful, white quartz sand northwest of Idaho Falls. Winds from the Snake River and Teton River carried the sand to this area, leaving the dunes behind. The dunes can reach up to 400 feet high, moving approximately eight feet each year.

Bring your ATV, off-road vehicle or dirt bike for cruising-fun over the sand. Riders from the west coast love the soft sandy dunes practicing jumps and duning. For those with a horse, the dunes are also great for horse-back riding. Check into a comfortable Best Western guest room, at the end of a fun day, to make your Idaho stay an enjoyable one.
