Saint Anthony Sand Dunes encompass over 11,000 acres of beautiful, white quartz sand northwest of Idaho Falls. Winds from the Snake River and Teton River carried the sand to this area, leaving the dunes behind. The dunes can reach up to 400 feet high, moving approximately eight feet each year.
Bring your ATV, off-road vehicle or dirt bike for cruising-fun over the sand. Riders from the west coast love the soft sandy dunes practicing jumps and duning. For those with a horse, the dunes are also great for horse-back riding. Check into a comfortable Best Western guest room, at the end of a fun day, to make your Idaho stay an enjoyable one.
