The Evel Knievel Jump Site, located west of Twin Falls, is the spot where motorcycle daredevil Evil Knievel attempted to jump across the Snake River Canyon. On September 8, 1974, Knievel failed to jump across the 500-foot-deep canyon because of a malfunction with his parachute, but only suffered a broken nose. Visitors to the jump site today, can still see the earthen ramp on the Snake River Canyon rim, where he attempted the jump.
Although Knievel died from an extended illness in 2007, his legacy lives on in the Twin Falls area.
